As an artist with a rich and diverse portfolio of creative work, I am fascinated by different mediums from classical oil painting to digital art and developing a dialogue between those seemingly incompatible forms. Constantly looking to further develop my skillset, I have worked on a variety of commissions from portraits to book covers to wall murals and am capable of executing paintings in various formats and styles. I am, however, most drawn to large-scale figurative oil paintings, created to be noticed. In my most recent work, I have become to manipulate the human figure by attributing the dimension of poetic human emotion to the figurative. The colour language of my work is striking yet delicate, also taking into consideration the demands of the contemporary interior.
Anna-Liisa Kilk (b. 1987) is a freelance painter-illustrator who lives and works in her hometown Rakvere, Estonia, where she had her very first art classes. When residing in London and getting to experience the varied contemporary art scene first-hand, Kilk decided to pursue art studies on a degree level. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in painting in 2016. Her work has been strongly influenced by the elaborate and quite distinct Estonian art scene. In her most recent paintings, she is approaching the figurative by means of modification, forcing the body to merge with the spectrum of emotion. Kilk‘s work is represented in private collections in Estonia, Finland, Spain and the Netherlands.
